Job summary

Southern California Hospitals is seeking a Specialty Training Registered Nurse to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients. You will coordinate care among disciplines, doctors, and support staff, while reevaluating outcomes and readiness for discharge.

The RN will provide professional clinical care, maintain documentation, and advocate for patients throughout the care continuum.

Qualifications

• Active, current RN license in California.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification.
• Six months of acute care nursing experience and acceptance into a unit-specific hospital training program.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to maintain flexibility and composure in a changing environment.
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (LA City Employees only).

Responsibilities

• PROFESSIONAL CLINICAL PRACTICE: provide patient care, administer medications and procedures safely within scope; collaborate with the health care team and advocate for patients.
• PLAN OF CARE: develop goals, conduct ongoing assessments, document progress, and ensure infection control and HIPAA compliance.
• COLLABORATION: coordinate with staff and physicians; supervise and delegate care; lead discharge planning and education.
• COMMUNICATION: empathetic interactions with patients and families, considering diverse backgrounds.
