Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Plymouth, MN is seeking an experienced Test Engineer (Level 2) to support the Armament Systems site. The role focuses on creating production test equipment, designing test methods for design verification, and maintaining test fixtures for efficient, reliable validation of aerospace products.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Physics/EE/CE or related field, 2+ years of experience (or a Master’s degree), and the ability to obtain a government secret

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics, EE, or CE with 2+ years related experience, or Master’s degree.
• Ability to obtain/maintain government secret clearance (US Citizenship).
• Read/understand schematics; understand embedded software.
• Experience with digital/analog electronics for signal conditioning and isolation.

Responsibilities

• Create production test equipment for military/aerospace products including programming and debugging.
• Design, develop and implement cost-effective testing methods for Design Verification (DVT).
• Maintain and update test equipment and support production floor testers.
• Understand product functionality to reduce test time; participate in design reviews for testability.
• Assist fixture fabrication and parts procurement; manage suppliers.
• Prepare test programs, fixtures, instrument racks and equipment.
• Analyze data and propose changes to test equipment, procedures, or processes.
