Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta seeks a part-time Specialty Sports Instructor for basketball at the Carl E. Sanders Family YMCA in Atlanta, GA.

You will lead basic to advanced basketball skills, run practice sessions, and support youth development through sport while focusing on safety and inclusive participation. Applicants should have 2+ years coaching or playing experience, current Safe Sport and concussion training, plus CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of coaching or instructing experience OR 2+ years of competitive experience at the college level or equivalent in the sport.
• Must currently hold or be able to acquire any required certifications for sport (Safe Sport and CDC Heads Up Concussion; CPR/First Aid within 30 days).

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction in basketball activities.
• Participate in special events and activities related to basketball.
• Maintain effective relationships with participants, parents, and volunteers.
• Create an environment that supports program goals and safety.
• Attend staff meetings and required trainings; conduct assessments of participants.
