The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Sports Specialty Instructor to deliver sport-specific training and skill development for members of all ages. You will demonstrate skills, explain rules, and help beginners while refining techniques for experienced athletes.
Responsibilities include providing instruction, participating in events, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and ensuring safety and excellent customer service in line with YMCA mission.
The Sports Specialty Instructor reports to the Sports Directors and is responsible for implementing sport‑specific training and skill development for members of all ages. The instructor demonstrates and explains sports skills and rules to individuals or groups, helping beginners learn basic movements and experienced athletes sharpen their techniques. This role upholds the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta’s mission by ensuring member service, program knowledge, safety, and effective communication with staff and members.
Employees must be able to stand, walk, run, sit, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
