Job summary

Azul Vision is seeking an administrative coordinator to manage surgical scheduling for ophthalmology patients and provide front-line patient support. The role includes coordinating pre-operative testing, insurance verification, and pre-authorizations, as well as post-operative scheduling and billing tasks.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years in high-level customer service, preferably with medical exposure and ophthalmic certifications.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years minimum of high-level customer service and/or sales experience.
• Medical experience is a plus.
• Ophthalmic certifications such as ABO or COA are a plus.
• College degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains surgical schedule for ophthalmology surgeons.
• Communicates with patients about scheduling, pre-op testing and visits, insurance requirements, surgical consents and facility disclosures.
• Obtains pre-authorizations and coordinates follow-up appointments and ancillary testing.
• Collects patient payments and performs insurance verification.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and completes encounters in registration systems.
• Attends required meetings and supports administrative processes.

Job description

Coordinate and schedule all aspects of patient surgeries for ophthalmologists in multispecialty group practice, including pre-operative testing, insurance verification, obtaining pre-authorizations and scheduling post-operative visits.
