Job summary

Riverview Regional Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, in Gadsden, Alabama, seeks a Seasonal Registered Nurse (RN) for a 12-week assignment in specialty areas. Day shift is 7:00 AM–7:00 PM from October 18, 2026 to January 9, 2027. Opportunities include ICU, CCU, Progressive Care, Cardiac Stepdown, and ED.

Must hold a current state RN license and BLS; ACLS preferred. Acute care experience and ventilator management are a plus.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current (preferred).
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other staff while maintaining standards of care.
• Communicate with physician about changes in patient condition and diagnostic results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

Contract Details:

• 12-week seasonal assignment
• Contract dates: October 18, 2026 – January 9, 2027
• Day shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• Candidates must be available for the duration of the seasonal contract
• Must be able to work every other weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and some holidays

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit.
• The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients.
• He / She communicates with physician about changes in the patients clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
• Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Additional Qualifications That AreaPlus:
