Prime Healthcare's Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time seasonal role. The position requires 12-hour day shifts (7:00 am–7:00 pm), with competitive pay at $55 per hour and comprehensive benefits.

Candidates must hold a current Texas RN license, BLS on hire, ACLS preferred, and have hospital acute care experience. Ventilator management and a BSN are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate on hire and maintained.
• ACLS certificate preferred within 30 days of hire.
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsabilités

• Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' health.
• Monitor vital signs and clinical indicators for changes.
• Recognize deterioration and respond appropriately.
• Safely administer medications and monitor for adverse effects.
• Coordinate with healthcare team to meet patient needs.
• Educate patients on condition, treatment options, and lifestyle.
• Communicate with doctors, therapists, and social workers to adjust care plans.

Hours: 12-hour shifts - 7:00 am to 7:00 pm

Location: Harlingen Medical Center - Harlingen, TX

**Candidates for the seasonal program must have a minimum of 3 years’ recent hospital (acute care) experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and mental health
• Monitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators to detect changes in patient conditions
• Recognize and act on warning signs of deterioration, such as changes in heart rate, respiratory rate, or mental status
• Safely administer prescribed medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular) and monitor for adverse effects or allergic reactions
• Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure the patient's needs are met
• Provide patient education on their condition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and prevent readmission.
• Communicate effectively with doctors, specialists, physical therapists, and social workers to develop and adjust care plans

Qualifications

• 1. Current and valid state RN License.
• 2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• 3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• 4. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• 5. Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• 6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
