Job summary

Free Market Health is seeking an energetic Pharmacy Technician to join our Pittsburgh-based non-dispensing pharmacy team. You will review prescriptions, coordinate with providers and partners, and support benefit investigations to keep treatments moving for patients.

The ideal candidate has a Pennsylvania pharmacy technician license and at least two years of experience, with strong attention to detail, data-entry accuracy, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacy Technician license in Pennsylvania.
• At least two years of pharmacy experience; specialty pharmacy experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of drug nomenclature, medical terminology, dosing concepts, and patient-care practices.
• Strong attention to detail, accurate data-entry skills, and the ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication and a service-oriented approach.
• Confidence learning new technology and working through complex issues to resolution.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming prescriptions for accuracy and readiness.
• Coordinate with providers and pharmacy partners to resolve issues.
• Support benefit investigations and prior authorizations.
• Investigate coverage and follow payer requirements.
• Gather criteria to support prior authorization approvals.
• Transfer prescription information between pharmacies as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and patient experience.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and internal teams to resolve problems.
