Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is hiring a Specialty Pharmacy Liaison to coordinate pharmacy services for patients through health system clinics and CPS. You will bridge patients, providers, and pharmacy, handling prior authorizations and financial assistance to ensure access to medications.

In this role, you’ll work with CPS Patient Care Services under the supervision of a pharmacist, supporting enrollment, counseling, and ongoing patient care across specialty and retail pharmacy programs.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacy Technician license in good standing in applicable state.
• PTCB certification or ability to acquire within 24 months of hire.
• Experience preparing medication for shipment.

Responsibilities

• Initialize and lead ongoing work in clinics, ensuring patient engagement aligns with preferences.
• Identify patients who can benefit from specialty pharmacy in clinic on arrival.
• Explain benefits of specialty pharmacy and enroll patients into the program.
• Perform benefits investigations, prior authorizations, and financial assistance to ensure access.
• Oversee services from order entry to final verification and align with patient needs.
• Provide direct support to enrolled patients, conduct outbound calls, adherence checks, and refill reminders.
• Triages clinical questions to a pharmacist, nurse, or provider.
• Support 24/7 patient coverage as needed.
