Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Full Time Specialty Pharmacist at Lee Health Specialty Pharmacy in Estero, FL. The role ensures accurate dispensing, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient and staff service.

Qualifications

• PharmD or BS Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited college.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing in Florida.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and dispense medication orders for safety and accuracy.
• Provide clinical pharmacy services including medication therapy management and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to optimize regimens for hospitalized patients.
• Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding with USP and hospital standards.
• Monitor outcomes and prevent adverse drug events.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance, including Joint Commission requirements.

We are currently seeking a Full Time Specialty Pharmacist to join our growing team at Lee Health Specialty Pharmacy in Estero, FL. In this role, you will ensure the accurate and timely dispensing of medications, uphold regulatory compliance, and provide exceptional service to patients and staff.

Pharmacy Location: Located within Lee Health Specialty Pharmacy in Estero, FL
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Primary Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and dispense medication orders to ensure appropriateness, safety, and accuracy
• Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication regimens for hospitalized patients
• Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding activities, ensuring compliance with USP and hospital standards
• Monitor patient outcomes and medication safety, identifying and preventing adverse drug events
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring efficient and compliant workflow
• Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance, including Joint Commission, state, and federal requirements

Required Qualifications

• PharmD or BS Pharmacy degree with equivalent and acceptable experience from a College of Pharmacy accredited by American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP)
• Active pharmacist license in good standing in the state of Florida

Preferred Qualifications

• Retail training
• Proficiency in multiple EMR systems such as EPIC, Cerner or Meditech
• Proficiency with dispensing systems such as PioneerRx, Willow Ambulatory, QS1, RX30, Computer Rx, etc. along with experience in pharmacy dispensing

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
