Job summary

CPS, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Specialty Pharmacist to join a growing team at Union Health in Terre Haute, IN, providing high-quality care for patients with complex, specialty diseases. You will review therapies, educate patients, coordinate with providers and payers, oversee prior authorizations, and monitor outcomes to improve clinical results.

Qualifications

  • PharmD or BS Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited college.
  • Licensed to practice as a pharmacist in Indiana.
  • Preferred: residency or board certification; ambulatory or specialty experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review and manage specialty medication therapies for complex, chronic, or high-cost conditions.
  • Provide patient education and counseling, focusing on adherence, administration, side effects, and outcomes.
  • Coordinate care with providers, payers, and manufacturers to ensure therapy access and continuity.
  • Oversee prior authorizations and utilization management, ensuring compliance with payer and program requirements.
  • Monitor effectiveness and safety of therapy, including lab values, adherence metrics, and patient-reported outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with REMS and accreditation standards, including documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Support quality initiatives and outcomes reporting, meeting specialty pharmacy performance and regulatory metrics.

We are currently conducting a search for a full-time Specialty Pharmacist to join a growing team of colleagues at our customer site, Union Health, in Terre Haute, IN, to provide outstanding service to patients with complex, specialty diseases to help them achieve improved clinical outcomes.

Pharmacy Location: Located within Union Health in Terre Haute, IN

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Primary Responsibilities
  • Review and manage specialty medication therapies for complex, chronic, or high-cost conditions
  • Provide patient education and counseling, focusing on adherence, administration, side effects, and outcomes

  • Ensure compliance with REMS and accreditation standards, including documentation and reporting requirements
  • Support quality initiatives and outcomes reporting, meeting specialty pharmacy performance and regulatory metrics

Required Qualifications
  • PharmD or BS Pharmacy degree with equivalent and acceptable experience from a College of Pharmacy accredited by American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP)
  • Licensed to practice as a pharmacist in the state of Indiana
Preferred Qualifications
  • Pharmacy residency or Board Certification
  • 1+ years of clinical experience or residency equivalent is preferred, but all candidates will be considered
  • Ambulatory or specialty experience
  • Proficiency in multiple EMR systems such as Cerner, EPIC or Meditech
  • Proficiency with dispensing systems such as Willow Ambulatory, QS1, RX30, Computer Rx, etc. along with experience in pharmacy dispensing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
