Job summary

Benton County Government is seeking a qualified professional to manage an assigned caseload of adults with mental health and co-occurring disorders. The role involves assessing client needs, developing and reviewing service plans, and collaborating with the Benton County Specialty Courts Teams.

You will work with Adult Drug Court, Mental Health Court and Veterans Treatment Court, coordinate with community resources, and maintain accurate records while following professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant human services field.
  • At least 1 year experience working with clients with mental health disorders.
  • Mental Health Paraprofessional (QMHPP) preferred; CADC certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing clients’ needs and support systems.
  • Planning for crises and helping clients develop coping mechanisms.
  • Coordinating and monitoring of the client’s use of these services.
  • Coordinate and provide care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and client centered.
  • Handle assigned cases, draft service plans, and review case progress.
  • Facilitate multiple care aspects (case coordination, information sharing, etc.).
  • Act as a client advocate regarding their clinical status and treatment options.
  • Develop effective working relations and cooperate with Specialty Courts teams throughout the process.
  • Keep track of client progress.
  • Record case information, complete accurately all necessary forms including court reports.
  • Assess and address motivational and psychosocial issues.
  • Adhere to professional standards as outlined by protocols, rules, and regulations.
  • Ensure referral and assessment process is completed timely
  • Regular and reliable attendance

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for managing an assigned caseload of adults diagnosed with mental health and/or co-occurring disorders. The incumbent is responsible for assessing client needs, developing, implementing, and reviewing service plans, and working with the Benton County Specialty Courts Teams including Adult Drug Court, Mental Health Court and Veterans Treatment Court and other community resources in meeting/achieving client service needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assessing clients’ needs and support systems.
  • Planning for crises and helping clients develop coping mechanisms.
  • Coordinating and monitoring of the client’s use of these services

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree earned from an accredited college or university in relevant human services preferred
  • At least one years’ experience working with clients with mental health disorders preferred.
  • Mental Health Paraprofessional (QMHPP) preferred.
  • Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor a plus
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Must be able to maintain helpful and professional relationships with the public, participants and families, attorneys, law enforcement officers, other office staff, etc. whether by phone or in person.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Incumbent will work in a team environment with all members of the Specialty Court team. The position will work directly with the Coordinator and Case Manager. The position will work in an office setting and also travel to other locations to meet with peers. The position will work directly with PEARL, Inc, the non-profit organization that supports the Specialty Courts.

The noise level in a typical office environment is moderate.
