Job summary

Summa Health System in Akron, OH is seeking a Certified Coder for Specialty Coding. This full-time day shift role focuses on coding reviews, billing data entry, denial management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma, formal medical coding training, and a current coding certification (CCA/CCS/CCS-P/CMC/CPC); RHIT acceptable with passing cert within 90 days. Epic software familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a formal medical coding training program.
• Current coding certification required (CCA, CCS, CCS-P, CMC or CPC). RHIT acceptable with passing of a coding certification test within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of coding review and billing data entry.
• Reprocess coding denials, follow-up, and denial queues.
• Reconcile services provided at the hospital and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Supports Patient-Centered Medical Home methodologies, as applicable.
