Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH seeks a Specialty Medical Coding Supervisor to provide daily leadership for specialty coding teams, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely coding across cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, oncology and OB‑GYN. You will mentor coders and collaborate with providers, billing and leadership.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED required.
• Certification in Procedural Coding with CPT, ICD-9 knowledge required.
• Minimum 5 years of coding and auditing/documentation review experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of Federal, State and payer regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily operational oversight and leadership for specialty coding teams.
• Ensure staff understand expectations and have the tools to meet them.
• Educate and work with providers on gaps in coding and documentation.
• Prioritize work, manage schedules, and ensure capacity alignment.
• Set individual goals and meet with team members monthly.
• Collaborate with providers, billing teams, and leadership.
