Job summary

Dallas County Hospital seeks an LPN or RN for Specialty Clinic/ Ambulatory Care (PRN; varied Mon-Fri 7:30a-4:30p). The role focuses on providing patient care, collecting data, and coordinating with the clinic team in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

The ideal candidate is a nursing program graduate with an active LPN/RN license, CPR/BLS within 6 weeks, and clinic or acute care experience. This position emphasizes teamwork, adherence to standards, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing or nursing program.
• Current LPN or RN license in state.
• CPR (BLS) certification within 6 weeks of hire.
• 1 year clinic or acute hospital nursing experience preferred.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care per standards and procedures.
• Liaison between the Specialist, staff, and DCH.
• Collect vital signs and document patient status.
• Prepare and administer injections, tests, wounds, and dressings.
• Prepare patient records using forms and systems and documentation practices.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor treatment responses.
• Draw blood samples and collect specimens as needed.
• Participate in teams to improve care processes and outcomes.
• Convey health information to patients and families.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
