Job summary

AXIS Capital is seeking a capable underwriter to support its Accident & Health business in the U.S. and Canada. You will manage new and renewal accounts, work with MGUs/MGUs, and collaborate across departments to decide on risk and coverage.

The role emphasizes data analysis, portfolio management, and liaison with legal, product, and operations. You should have 2+ years in A&H underwriting and MGA/MGU oversight, with strong communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Mathematics, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance or related field.
• At least two (2) years Accident & Health Underwriting experience (P&C helpful).
• At least two (2) years overseeing MGAs/MGUs or Program Managers.
• Market knowledge: Amateur Sports, K-12 & College Students, Volunteer Organizations.
• Knowledge of Accidental Death, Accident Medical Expense, Disability, Participant Accident, Out of Country Medical.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite for K-12, Amateur Sports, Participant Accident, and Outbound Student programs.
• Evaluate cases from MGUs/Program Managers; assess risk and coverage.
• Collaborate with Actuarial, Legal, Product, Operations, and Business Development.
• Develop and maintain producer/program relationships.
• Set premiums and issue proposals; manage annual renewal portfolio reviews.
• Prepare monthly Specialty A&H UW reports; create ad hoc reports.
