Job summary

Guardian Fleet Services Inc. is seeking a Specialized Transportation Driver in Sarasota, FL to transport oversized and overweight loads safely and efficiently. The role requires DOT knowledge, a Class A CDL, and strong customer service in all interactions.

The position offers a $1,500 in-state sign-on bonus and a $2,500 out-of-state sign-on bonus, with an annual compensation range of $78k–$104k depending on duties and route assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class A CDL with at least two years heavy hauling experience.
• Must be at least 21 years old to meet company insurance and driving eligibility requirements.
• English communication required.

Responsibilities

• Report each scheduled day, on‑time, ready and able to work, well‑groomed and in uniform.
• Work with Dispatch team.
• Perform vehicle inspection sheet daily, identifying any mechanical issues.
• Comply with Company and DOT regulations regarding the safe operation of the truck.
• Tracking E logs.
• Inspect all supplied tools such as chains, straps, and cables to ensure equipment is in a good and safe condition.
• Report any issue that restricts the ability to complete the dispatch in a timely manner.
• Ability to drive and perform duties via interstate for towing, recovery, and/or transport.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Heavy Haul Transport Driver is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant transportation of oversized, overweight, and specialized loads. This role requires expert-level driving skills, strong knowledge of DOT regulations, and the ability to operate a variety of heavy‑haul equipment and trailers. The driver will work closely with dispatch, escort teams, customers, and site personnel to ensure loads are delivered on time and without incident.

• Ability to work - Days, Nights, Weekends and Holiday as needed

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Class A driver’s license with at least two (2) years of heavy hauling/commercial driving experience
• Must be at least 21 years of age to meet company insurance and driving eligibility requirements

Physical Requirements

• Job requires lifting, crawling, pulling, constant use of hands, significant bending, climbing and reaching
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

• Ability to safely perform duties in active roadside and recovery environments
