Job summary

Reynoldsburg City Schools is seeking a Specialized Paraprofessional to support students with intensive needs under licensed teachers and clinicians. You will help implement educational, behavioral, and social-emotional programming in alignment with IEP/504 goals.

Required are a high school diploma, Ohio Educational Aide Permit, and ParaPro credentials, plus background checks. This is a nonexempt, 192‑day position with diverse responsibilities within Student Services.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid State of Ohio Educational Aide Permit.
• ESEA Highly Qualified credential (Associate Degree/48+ hours or ParaPro 456+).
• BCI & FBI background checks as required by Ohio law.
• Experience with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Crisis management credentials (CPI, Safety-Care, PCM) preferred.
• Credentials such as RBT, CNA, or DSP are welcome.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce learning concepts in small groups or one-on-one.
• Provide accommodations and testing support per IEP/504 plans.
• Create visual aids and goal charts to support learning.
• Support students during specials and inclusion minutes.
• Implement BIPs and PBIS under licensed staff supervision.
• Use de-escalation strategies to maintain safe learning environments.
• Record data for IEP/504 progress.
• Assist with ADLs and health-related tasks as delegated.
• Supervise students during non-instructional times.
• Maintain organized, safe classrooms and equipment.
