Job summary

Reynoldsburg City Schools is seeking a Specialized Paraprofessional to assist in supervising and instructing special needs students under the supervision of a certificated teacher in a special education classroom; observing and documenting student progress; implementing plans for instruction; and providing clerical support to teachers.

The minimum qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, an Ohio Education Aide permit with ESEA credential, and 1–2 years of paraprofessional

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ohio Education Aide permit with ESEA credential is required.
• 1–2 years paraprofessional experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists teachers with lesson delivery and assessments.
• Prepares daily behavior charts.
• Assists students with classroom activities (art, music, PE).
• Intervenes with students when behavior is not appropriate.
• Assists students with toileting, diapering and clothing as needed.
• Assists with meals and feeding.
• Assists students with wheelchairs and adaptive equipment.
• Dispenses medications to students as directed.
