Job summary

Reynoldsburg City Schools is seeking a Specialized Paraprofessional to support students with intensive needs under licensed teachers and clinicians. This role focuses on implementing educational, behavioral, and social-emotional programming to promote safe inclusion and progress toward IEP/504 goals.

The position requires a high school diploma, Ohio Educational Aide Permit, and relevant credentials; background checks are mandatory.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid State of Ohio Educational Aide Permit.
• A valid ESEA (Highly Qualified) credential is required for Title I Elementary buildings (requires Associate Degree, 48+ sem. hours, or 456+ on ParaPro).
• Successful completion of BCI & FBI background checks as required by Ohio law.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce learning concepts in small groups or 1:1.
• Provide accommodations per IEPs/504 Plans.
• Create visual aids and goal charts to support learning.
• Support students during specials and inclusion minutes.
• Implement BIPs and PBIS under licensed supervision.
• Use non-violent de-escalation strategies to maintain safe environments.
• Record data for IEP/504 reporting.
• Supervise students during non-instructional times and transitions.
• Maintain organized, safe classrooms and prepare specialized equipment.
