Job summary

KIPP DC is seeking a Specialized Instructional Coach to support teachers and leaders across its schools. The role emphasizes expertise in specially designed instruction, data-informed coaching, and collaboration with the Director of Student Support to elevate outcomes for students with disabilities.

The position is full-time and onsite, with responsibilities spanning coaching, curriculum support, and network collaboration to ensure rigorous, equitable instruction and successful student progress

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in special education or reading (or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree with certification in special education.
• At least five years of successful school-based special education experience.
• Strong track record of positive student performance in literacy/math or across content areas.
• Experience with progress monitoring toward IEP goals.
• Experience unpacking grade-level standards mapped to IEP goals.
• Experience designing and implementing modifications for high-incidence disability categories.

Responsibilities

• Provide coaching and professional development to teachers and leaders to strengthen specialized instruction.
• Review student data to ensure proficiency and guide instructional decisions.
• Support teachers with coaching, modeling, and refining instructional practices for students with disabilities.
• Conduct co-observations and instructional walkthroughs with school teams.
• Assist with IEP case management and preparation for IEP meetings and annual reviews.
