Job summary

KIPP DC is seeking an Instructional Coach to support Discover Academy's kindergarten team, building strong teaching and instructional systems to improve student outcomes. You will work closely with staff, students, and families to uphold high content and pedagogical standards while advancing equity and culturally responsive practices.

You will report to the principal and join the school leadership team in a full-time in-person role, emphasizing instructional leadership, data analysis, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Five years of lead teaching experience required.
• Experience leading adults (e.g. grade level chair, department chair, committee chair) required.
• Demonstrated academic results required.
• Judgment around student safety required.
• Strong attendance record required.
• Strong interpersonal interactions with families and staff required.
• Experience coaching and developing teachers preferred.
• Experience leading professional development preferred.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace apps preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support development of school-wide vision and systems for early childhood instruction.
• Plan, monitor progress, and align goals with school-wide priorities.
• Identify and address equity challenges in curriculum and student outcomes.
• Lead and support daily school operations and foster a positive school culture.
• Actively participate in ongoing learning and professional development.
• Collaborate with Special Educators to meet diverse learner needs.
