Job summary

LTIMindtree is hiring a Linux Operating System Engineer to manage and support enterprise Linux infrastructure across On-Premises Data Centers and AWS Cloud. The role emphasizes RHEL 8 administration, automation, and ITIL-aligned processes, with heavy on-call and incident management responsibilities.

The position is based in Minneapolis, MN, requiring full-time, onsite work five days a week. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop automation, and contribute to security hardening

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Linux system administration experience.
• Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8).
• Experience managing enterprise Linux environments at scale.
• Hands-on AWS Linux workloads experience (EC2, EBS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Auto Scaling).
• Scripting: Bash and Python; automation with Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support RHEL 8 servers in On-Premises and AWS.
• Provision, configure, patch, upgrade, and lifecycle manage Linux servers.
• Monitor performance and ensure SLA compliance.
• Troubleshoot Linux, application, storage, and network issues.
• Implement OS hardening and security controls.
• Manage AWS Linux workloads: EC2, EBS, VPC, security groups.
• Develop automation scripts with Bash, Python, Ansible.
• Handle backup, DR, and high availability.
• Follow ITIL processes using ServiceNow.

Role Description

Job Title: Linux Operating System Engineer

Duration: Fulltime

Location: Minneapolis, MN (5 days onsite)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Linux Operating System Engineer to manage, maintain, and support enterprise Linux infrastructure across both On-Premises Data Centers and AWS Cloud environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8) administration, automation, troubleshooting, infrastructure operations, and IT Service Management processes utilizing ITIL best practices and ServiceNow.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support RHEL 8 servers in both On-Premises and AWS environments.
• Perform Linux server provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Manage system performance, capacity planning, and availability to ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
• Monitor infrastructure health and proactively address performance bottlenecks and operational risks.
• Troubleshoot complex Linux OS, application, storage, and network-related issues.
• Implement OS hardening, security controls, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements.
• Manage AWS-based Linux workloads, including EC2 instances, EBS storage, security groups, and cloud networking components.
• Collaborate with application, database, network, and security teams to resolve incidents and support business services.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Python, or Ansible to streamline operational tasks.
• Support backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Execute change, incident, problem, and request management activities in accordance with ITIL processes.
• Utilize ServiceNow for incident tracking, change implementation, problem management, and service requests.
• Create and maintain operational documentation, technical procedures, and knowledge base articles.
• Participate in on-call support and major incident management activities as required.

Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, performance and internal equity.
