Job summary
University of Derby's Student Services seeks a Specialist Study Skills Tutor (SpLD and Autism) to support students with bespoke strategies for independent learning. You will deliver one-to-one tuition and group support, interpret diagnostic reports, and use assistive software to improve outcomes.
The role requires excellent written and verbal communication, IT proficiency (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly across disciplines in a collaborative
Qualifications
- Experience providing study skills support on an individual basis to students with a Specific Learning Difference or Autism.
Responsibilities
- Provide bespoke study skills strategies to support independent learning.
- Deliver one-to-one tuition and small group support.
- Interpret diagnostic assessment reports to tailor teaching interventions.
- Utilise specialist assistive software to enhance student outcomes.
- Deliver training or workshops to groups when needed.
- Communicate clearly in written and spoken English to diverse student populations.
