Job summary

Fort Point LLC is seeking a Specialist Process Engineer (Urea SME / FEED Lead) in Houston, TX or remote. The candidate will serve as the FEED Revamp Lead, translating the licensor's PDP and directing FEED execution to optimize the urea/ammonia revamp.

You will liaise with the licensor, ensure technical integrity, and drive safety reviews, PHAs, and HAZOPs for the modified synthesis units. The role requires deep experience in chemical engineering, particularly within fertilizer/petrochemical

Qualifications

• Minimum 12+ years in Chemical Engineering within Fertilizer/Petrochemical space.
• Led at least two FEED brownfield revamp projects for Urea/Ammonia units.

Responsibilities

• PDP translation and alignment for FEED execution.
• Liaise directly with the Urea licensor to resolve design issues and approve modifications.
• Ensure technical compliance of FEED outputs against PDP boundaries (balances, control philosophies, diagrams, data sheets).
• Lead safety reviews including PHAs, model check-ins, and HAZOPs for modified synthesis units.

Specialist Process Engineer - Urea SME / FEED Lead

Location: Houston, TX (or Remote) |

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Process Consultant to provide elite Urea Process SME support for an upcoming capital revamp project. The successful candidate will step in as the FEED Revamp Lead, using the proprietary Licensor's Process Design Package (PDP) as the fundamental technical basis to drive engineering development, ensure process optimization, and manage technology boundaries.

Key Responsibilities:

• PDP Translation: Guide the core FEED execution team in correctly interpreting, aligning, and implementing the proprietary licensor's process specifications.
• Licensor Liaison: Act as the direct point of contact with the Urea licensor to clear up design anomalies, manage technology guarantees, and approve modifications.
• Technical Assurance: Verify compliance across all FEED outputs—including complex stream balances, control philosophies, logic diagrams, and equipment data sheets - against the source PDP boundaries.
• Safety Leadership: Spearhead milestone reviews, actively driving Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), model check-ins, and HAZOP reviews for modified synthesis units.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 12+ years in Chemical Engineering within the Fertilizer / Petrochemical space.
• Documented history of leading at least two FEED brownfield revamp projects for Urea/Ammonia units.
