Job Description

The Maintenance Sr. Specialist holds general responsibility for the reliability of the facility or production equipment utilized throughout the facility. The Sr. Specialist demonstrates knowledge as a subject‑matter expert (SME) in multiple equipment/process areas or proficiencies, analyzes equipment performance, and determines improvements in reliability. The Sr. Specialist works closely with other maintenance technicians to train and mentor on proper maintenance and repair techniques in a cGMP environment.

• Highly proficient in troubleshooting complex equipment issues and providing supporting documentation that meets cGMP requirements.
• As a primary SME, take ownership in optimizing the maintenance strategy and monitoring machine performance to improve equipment reliability in assigned areas.
• Effectively manage applicable Change Controls, CAPAs, and document changes to SOPs, drawings, and other equipment documentation.
• Coordinate with OEM and contractor support to meet specific objectives within project scope and deadlines.
• Proficient with the proper use of engineering and maintenance documentation required under cGMPs (Maintenance Work Order System, Critical Change Request System, SOP documentation, Validation documentation, etc.).
• Develop training opportunities for the Maintenance team to increase equipment knowledge and support for the facility.
• Influential team member capable of filling in for team leadership when applicable or assigned.

Key Qualifications

• High school or GED diploma required; technical certification preferred.
• Minimum 10 years in FDA or other regulated industry.
• Technical 2‑year degree or equivalent, including applicable license or certifications (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls/PLC, HVAC, Boiler) desired.
• Lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge typically achieved through a technical program in an applicable field or certification, with 10 years of practical experience, including ability to write detailed reports.
• Ability to apply problem‑solving strategies within industry practices and cGMP context, with appropriate senior input.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 60 pounds unassisted.
• Pushing/Pulling.
• Exposure to allergens.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.

Location & Shift

Spokane, WA – On site, Full‑time. Shift: Monday‑Friday, 8:00AM–5:00PM.

Compensation & Benefits

Hiring wage: $39.57 – $53.54, with opportunities for growth, promotion, and annual raises. Benefits begin on the first day and include:
