Columbus State Community College is seeking a part-time Circulation Support staff member to staff the library service desk, check in/out materials, renewals, shelving, and assist patrons in the 105 computer lab.
Qualifications include an Associate’s Degree and two years of customer service experience; 28 hours per week minimum. Background check and MVR may be required. The role features a collaborative campus environment within Central Ohio.
Compensation Type: Hourly, Compensation: $20.85
Circulation Support Performs various duties within the library circulation area, including staffing the service desk; checking in/out materials; renewing materials; re-shelving materials; shelf reading; shifting; creating patron records; creating book cards; processing and packing/unpacking OhioLINK items; and assisting patrons in the 105 computer lab. Participates in monthly book displays. Assumes general responsibility for circulation operations, subject to management overview and supervision.
Customer Service Provides assistance and support to library patrons and guests. Utilizes library software systems to retrieve and enter data. Instructs customers in the use of library systems and equipment. Provides general information on the use of library facilities and services. Refers patrons to Librarians and other departments for assistance, as needed. Resolves customer, operational, and administrative issues.
Culture of Respect Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community. Other duties as required.
Attends all required department meetings and training. Communicates any concerns related to building operations to appropriate contacts. Works outside the normal workweek schedule to support library operations, as scheduled, including weekends. *Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required. Schedule: 28 hours/week MINIMUM
Associate’s Degree in related field. Two (2) years’ experience in customer service. *An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework and experience may qualify a candidate.
