The position is in the DT Financial Aid department, with regular Thursday–Friday shifts and a maximum of 19.5 hours per week. Starting pay is $18.22 per hour, monthly pay frequency, and it is not eligible for remote work.

Qualifications

Job Summary

This role is responsible for serving as the primary receptionistfor current and prospective students for the Financial Aid Officeand assisting students with applying for and understanding how toreceive financial aid.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements

  • Greets current and prospective students in the Financial AidOffice, directing requests and questions to the appropriateparty
  • Provides financial aid application guidance to students,including the process once financial aid has been approved anddistributed
  • Files financial aid records and reports, posts information torecords, sorts and distributes mail, copies documents, answerstelephone and performs similar duties
  • Computes amounts and checks totals on various financial aidreconciliation reports
  • Inputs and retrieves financial aid information in connection withthe responsibilities of serving financial aid students

Service Excellence

  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, andfollows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of theworksite
  • Completes all required training and professional developmentsessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of theCollege

Supervision

  • Works under the general supervision of the assigned departmentleader

Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • One (1) year's working experience in supporting and servingcustomers
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year's working experience providing customer servicein an office environment
  • At least one year's working experience in a college or universitysetting related to the Essential Performance Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of higher education and college financial aidprograms
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonalrelationships with varied populations, including strong listening,verbal, and written communication
  • Skilled using computer applications and enterprise systems,including the Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicateproblems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work arevaried, and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations basedon policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here arerepresentative of those an employee encounters while performing theessential functions of this job. While performing the duties ofthis job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanicalparts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. Thenoise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
