A Brief Overview

This individual is responsible for the success of the site Environmental, Health, and Safety strategy. They will develop, implement, and drive continuous improvement strategies in all areas of EHS ensuring all relevant federal, state, local, and company standards are met.

What you will do

  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, local, and corporate environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Promote a safety-first culture through driving key performance indicators such as, training, good catch/near miss program, corrective and preventative actions, etc.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training including, New Employee Orientation, Compliance Based, and Job Specific Training for technical subject matter (i.e., Confined Space, LOTO, PIT)
  • Lead an effective EHS Management System including all required elements such as internal / external audits and inspections and serve as a primary liaison between government agencies and Divisional, and Corporate EHS.
  • Work closely with other departments and corporate functions to integrate EHS considerations into the planning and execution of projects and day-to-day operations.
  • Complete required site audits and inspections as required by regulation or corporate standards.
  • Maintain facility EHS Roadmap and Compliance Calendar.
  • Drive engagement by developing and implementing programs that engage local team members, empowers local voices, and raises awareness in the areas of environment, health, safety, and sustainability to support site strategic plans and targets.
  • Support the coordination and management of the site Emergency Preparedness and Business Continuity Plans.
  • Lead incident investigations and function as subject matter expert to ensure root cause is understood and corrective actions implemented to prevent reoccurrence.


Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Technology, Safety, Environmental Science or Managment. (Preferred)


Experience Qualifications

  • 1-3 years Manufacturing environment. (Required)
  • 1-3 years Environmental, Health, and Safety. (Required)


Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in compliance rules and regulations within OSHA, EPA, DOT and other hazardous material regulations including knowledge of reporting requirements, waste characterization, wastewater, permitting, and release reporting. (Medium proficiency)
  • General understanding of sustainability issues and opportunities. (Medium proficiency)
  • Capable of leading incident investigations and causal mapping. (Medium proficiency)
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal. (Medium proficiency)
  • Knowledge of DOT, preferred. (Medium proficiency)
  • Teamwork and strong interpersonal skills. (High proficiency)
  • Self-directed with strong results-oriented attitude. (High proficiency)
  • Planning & Priority Setting and strong organizational skills. (High proficiency)


Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) (Preferred)
