Position Overview:

The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will provide leadership and technical support to create, implement, and maintain EH&S programs and procedures for Argon Medical Devices. Work with local managers and EHS representatives to establish facility tracking and reporting systems.


What you will do:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain company policies, programs and procedures adhering to local, state, and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement program and policies for monitoring, controlling, and preventing chemical, physical, and biological hazards at the facility.
  • Evaluates company health and safety performance records, internal compliance audits, training, and makes recommendations to upper management to correct any observed issues.
  • Ensure that EHS training programs meet industry and governmental requirements.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining an Emergency Response Plan
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local plant leadership teams and key employees.
  • Coordinate and lead Safety Committee activities

Skills for Success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or a related field. ASP or CSP a plus.
  • 5+ years of work experience preferably in manufacturing with responsibility for health and safety, environmental and industrial hygiene.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, policies, personal protective equipment, safety engineering, accident investigation and industrial hygiene.
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) a plus.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations.
