IS Specialist – South Burlington, VT:

Vermont Federal Credit Union is recruiting for an IS Specialist out of our Kennedy Drive Location.

We are looking to fill a IS Specialist role in our Information Systems Department. The IS Specialist will be responsible maintaining PCs, printers, networks, servers and other technologies. The position requires strong technical aptitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality IT services to support the credit union's systems, operations, and member experience. In this role you will be a hands‑on subject matter expert working directly with everyone in the company to fix problems and improve technology and processes. This role is on‑site in our South Burlington Headquarters location and at times will also work onsite in our branches across Vermont.

Hourly Range: $28.49 - $42.74

Job Description:

  • Monitoring systems operations, establishing user profiles, user environments, directories, and security access on the Local Area Network (LAN).
  • Primary contact for hardware and software issues and maintaining PCs and PC applications.
  • Design and maintain systems documentation, processing logs and inventory of equipment and providing off‑hours support, including on‑call rotation.
  • Consulting with computer operations management, supervisory staff, and various IS personnel to assure that IS standards for control, security, and recoverability are understood and followed.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software problems, providing resolutions in a timely manner, installing appropriate hardware or software, and maintaining and furthering technology knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Provide timely and efficient technical support to end‑users across the organization.
  • Monitor service desk metrics, analyze trends, and propose and help implement improvements to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver outstanding service that is in alignment with the Credit Union's Service Promises.

Requirements:

  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and departments.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • A two‑year college degree or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • Knowledge of computer system hardware, telecommunications equipment, operating systems and network components is required.
