Job Overview
The Special Services Sales Representative drives sales and revenue by identifying, pursuing, and closing opportunities for the company's electrical systems and solutions, building and maintaining client relationships, and collaborating with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop revenue growth and backlog for Special Services.
- Perform estimating and project support to close and expand sales opportunities.
- Maintain pipeline development, forecast backlog, and attain revenue targets.
- Meet or exceed annual sales and gross margin goals.
- Develop add‑on work such as service agreements and repeat business.
- Use data to drive sales strategy and prioritization.
- Outreach existing clients for expansion opportunities.
- Strategic prospecting within target portfolios, leveraging referrals, service history, and installed base.
- Support department management as needed.
- Maintain and develop assigned service accounts.
- Identify and pursue potential customers through networking and referrals.
- Identify project bid opportunities via research and internal leads.
- Provide estimates via self‑performance or pre‑award department.
- Provide design‑build electrical solutions and estimates.
- Gather documentation for bid preparation, interpret specifications, and develop competitive bid estimates.
- Attend pre‑bid meetings, perform site walks, and create/manage opportunities in AX.
- Develop relationships with contractors, tenants, property managers, and building owners.
- Prepare and secure necessary bid documents and accompanying certifications.
- Coordinate with engineering/design department for engineered jobs.
- Maintain project files, follow up with engineering, and identify value‑engineering opportunities.
- Provide material lists for procurement, review project status with technicians or PMs, and attend job‑site meetings.
- Assist with change orders and follow up with customers after project completion.
- Perform cold calls to create new work for backlog.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of sales experience in electrical service and projects.
- Experience engaging property managers, facility managers, and stationary engineers.
- General knowledge of electrical installation methods and construction.
- Knowledge of other trades’ involvement and construction responsibilities.
- Proficient in electrical, mechanical, structural, and architectural plans.
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; computer‑based estimating program knowledge preferred.
- Valid clean driving record.
- Dependable self‑starter, good attitude, work ethic, and ability to work with diverse personalities and management styles.
- Strong communication, networking, negotiation, sales, marketing, and presentation skills.
