Job summary

Fort Mill School District is seeking a Special Services Teaching Assistant to support students with disabilities under supervision of licensed staff. This role involves assisting in classrooms, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during field trips to ensure a safe, supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities include implementing instructional programs, assisting with daily living skills, documenting progress, and collaborating with teachers to meet IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of at least two years of college coursework (60 hours).
• An Associate’s Degree or higher is acceptable.
• Passing the Paraprofessional Exam is acceptable documentation of qualification.

Responsibilities

• Implement instructional programs under supervision of a certified staff member.
• Monitor and supervise students in various settings to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Assist with activities of daily living and health-care-related tasks as trained.
• Perform clerical tasks to support classroom objectives and documentation.
• Communicate progress to teachers and district personnel as needed.
• Attend required meetings and trainings and comply with district policies.
