Job summary

Anderson School District 2 Marshall Primary School in Belton, South Carolina, is seeking an Instructional Assistant for Special Education to support a self-contained class. You will report to the Principal and reinforce the classroom plan, while collecting data on behavioral and learning objectives.

Responsibilities include implementing behavior intervention plans, supporting student progress, and accompanying students to various activities around the school.

Qualifications

• Two Year Associates Degree, or 60 hours of coursework, or ParaPro Assessment Test.
• Qualifications may be substituted per district policy.
• Experience with special education preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education student in a self-contained classroom in the following areas.
• Reinforce skills taught by the classroom teacher.
• Take data on behavioral, communication, socialization, and motivational objectives.
• Intervene to manage behavior problems when necessary.
• Carry out written behavior intervention plans.
• Accompany student to various locations on school grounds.
