Qualifikationen

• Juris Doctor degree or equivalent from an accredited law school with experience as a practicing attorney.
• Two years of experience as a practicing attorney (SCDC minimum).
• Must be a member in good standing with the South Carolina bar and satisfy the 403 Requirements.

Aufgaben

• Prosecute criminal cases containing a SCDC nexus before the SC state grand jury and in all circuits.
• Advise special agents on search warrants, evidence, and future legal issues.
• Assist in determination of documentation to be released to FOIAS, subpoenas, rule 5, etc.
• Produce documents and information to defendants or their lawyers as required by law.
• Respond after hours in person or by phone to serious crime scenes to provide legal advice.
• Research legal issues, prepare briefs and oral arguments.
• Keep Division Director informed of changes in state and federal law.
• Liaise between solicitor’s offices, AG's office, and attorneys in criminal cases.
• Assist in drafting legislation and regulations.
• Present information to General Assembly or agencies when required.
