Job summary

University Health Partners of Hawaii seeks a Special Projects Health Tech (Oral Health) to support school-based oral health activities, coordinate screenings and sealant events, distribute consent forms, collect data and assist with referrals. Travel to DOE/Charter schools is involved; UH Manoa site with base duties in Honolulu, HI.

The role requires a health-related certification, CPR/First Aid, and clinical setting experience, plus strong communication and organizational skills for data entry

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in a health-related field or equivalent job related work experience.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or current BLS Certification.
• Experience working in a clinical setting.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and FERPA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate oral health activities, including school-based screenings and sealant events.
• Distribute consent forms and collect data for oral health programs.
• Assist with care coordination of students needing dental referrals.
• Perform data entry and health education as requested.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the clinical supervision of the oral health program manager and administrative supervision of the HK Business Operations Manager, the Special Projects Health Tech (Oral Health) will be responsible for assisting with the coordination of oral health activities including; school-based oral screenings and sealant events, distributing consents forms for oral health, data collection, assisting with care coordination of students needing dental referrals, data entry and health education as requested.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Education/Training/Experience

Minimum

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Certificationin a health related field or equivalent job related work experience
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or current BLS Certification
• Experience working in a clinical setting.

Knowledge/Skills

Minimum

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Familiarity with Patient Confidentiality laws (HIPAA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
• Vital sign measurement
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or Basic Life Support certification
