Job summary

Clearway Pain Solutions is seeking a Special Procedures Coordinator to ensure authorization, scheduling and coordination of Special Procedures. You will liaise with device representatives, outside organizations, patients, providers and internal staff to ensure timely, compliant care.

The role requires two years of prior authorization experience, strong communication skills and proficiency with MS Office. Driving/travel to company locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of related prior authorization experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform calculations, problem solve and use reasoning.
• Knowledge of medical practices and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in alignment with Company mission, vision and goals.
• Maintains confidentiality in all areas per HIPAA rules.
• Maintains organized spreadsheet of patients considered for Special Procedures.
• Contacts patients to inform them of pre-procedure requirements.
• Co-ordinates pre-procedure requirements (psych clearance, pre-op tests, etc.).
• Educates patients, staff and providers on Special Procedures.
• Understands insurance policy as it relates to procedures.
• Obtains authorization and scheduling of related Special Procedures.
• Reviews patient charts for documentation clarity after procedures initiated.
• Coordinates scheduling with device representatives from various companies.
• Coordinates with providers to clarify medical chart notes.
• Reviews notes to ensure information on medical necessity is documented.
• Develops and maintains reports as directed.
• Checks work email regularly.
• Participates in trainings and in-services.
• Other duties as assigned.
