Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree or two years of college preferred.
• Valid Texas educational aide certificate required.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Experience: two years working with children.

Responsibilities

• Help meet individual student needs, including assistance with mobility and personal care.
• Assist with behavior management and crisis interventions as needed.
• Adapt methods to fit each student’s needs and communicate effectively.
• Support motor skills development and instructional exercises as directed by the teacher.
• Assist students throughout the day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground.
• Keep the teacher informed of student needs and problems.
