Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional in Tucson to support teachers and students with individualized instruction and IEP implementation. The role involves preparing materials, monitoring progress, and providing direct student assistance during classes and activities.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, basic record-keeping skills, and CPR/First Aid certification upon hire. Evening or field-trip support may be required as part of school activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; one to three months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents; ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
• Certifications in First Aid and CPR required upon recommendation for hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of student's IEP and implement daily lesson plans.
• Provide direct student instruction and organize instructional materials.
• Maintain records and evaluate IEP goals; assist teacher as needed.
• Design and enforce behavior management plans; provide life skills support as described in IEP.
• Support students during school hours on campus or field trips; assist with therapy as instructed.
