Job summary

Sylvania in Tucson, AZ seeks a dedicated educational support staff member to assist students with disabilities under IEP guidance. You will provide tutoring, assist with daily activities, and support teachers while maintaining documentation and coordinating meetings.

Responsibilities include classroom support, basic medical tasks under supervision, and data entry for Medicaid billing. Some duties involve coordinating with parents and staff to ensure compliance and student progress.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification is required (online training not accepted).
• CPI certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Arizona Driver’s License is required.
• Finger Print Clearance is required.
• Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that meets minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and supportive environment for students with disabilities.
• Accompany and assist students throughout the school day per IEP.
• Provide tutoring/remediation 1:1 or small groups under a certified teacher.
• Transcribe instructional materials into Braille as needed (if required).
• Assist with self-care tasks including feeding, hygiene, dressing, mobility.
• Perform medical tasks under licensed providers' direction as assigned.
• Maintain records and Medicaid billings; perform administrative duties.
• Assist with organizing activities, scheduling events, and paperwork.
• Support instruction of groups, monitor behaviors per behavior plans.
• Assist with informal testing/monitoring of objectives (sight words, etc.).
• Perform classroom duties and maintain orderliness of centers.
• May assist with IEP/paperwork and meeting notices.
• Schedule and contact parents for IEP/CST/MET meetings.
• Assist with proctoring state testing; grade work and record grades as needed.
