Job summary

Yuma Elementary School District ONE is seeking a Paraprofessional - ESS Mild/Moderate to assist in providing instructional support for students with special needs. You will help implement IEP plans and support classroom activities under supervision.

Responsibilities include monitoring student behavior, assisting in small groups, and ensuring a safe, positive learning environment. A High School Diploma and required certifications are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proof of MMR immunization and Hepatitis B clearance.
• Three professional references and IVP Fingerprint Card.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom activities and materials under the direction of the supervising teacher for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives.
• Monitor and assist with student behavior and participation during instruction.
• Provide immediate first aid and basic health care assistance as instructed by a health care professional.
• Attend meetings and trainings to improve job performance and stay informed on procedures.
• Document student daily activities and progress for reporting and logs.
• Supervise students in various environments to maintain safety and a positive learning environment.
