Job summary

Maricopa Unified School District seeks a Paraprofessional ESS to support instruction and supervise students in a school setting. This non-exempt role involves one-on-one and small-group instruction, testing support, and playground supervision, aligning with the district’s educational goals.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, First Aid/CPR, and a willingness to collaborate with teachers. Bilingual preferred; hours follow the school schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• PRAXIS or Work Keys test accepted, or Associate’s degree, or, 60 college credits.
• Current First Aid and CPR (Required or 30 days after hire to obtain).
• Bilingual preferred.
• Valid Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Reinforces learning material or skills with individual students in classroom or developmental center.
• Reinforces learning material or skills with small groups in classroom.
• Supervises students during lunch, playground, before/after school.
• Translates material and information for parents, students and staff.
• Administers tests and assessments; grades papers and maintains records under teacher supervision.
• Maintains files and computer records.
• Assists supervising instructor with duties related to area of instruction.
• May involve personal assistance with toileting, hygiene, feeding, lifting.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
