Job summary

Westwood Elementary School (Westwood ES) in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Paraprofessional to support Special Needs students in 1:1 and unit settings. Under supervision of certified staff, you will assist with instructional goals and help create a safe, engaging classroom.

The role requires effective communication, patience, and the ability to work independently. Must be able to obtain Ohio Educational Aide Permit; prior experience with children is desirable.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher and/or High School diploma with Parapro Assessment.
• Parapro Experience or educational background is desirable.
• Ohio Educational Aide Permit required or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified staff with students in classroom to meet instructional goals.
• Help reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, and other skills individually or in small groups.
• Assist with record-keeping and reporting on student learning and performance.
• Support classroom behavioral management to maintain a safe, on-task environment.
• Supervise students in non-instructional areas and accompany on field trips as needed.
• Prepare and distribute learning materials and implement instructional activities.
