Job summary

Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District seeks Paraprofessional staff to assist teachers and specialists in delivering educational services to students with special needs. Roles include 1:1 support for remedial or enrichment activities, and aiding instructional goals within an intensive behavior classroom.

Minimum qualifications include 2 years of college or equivalent, ParaPro or higher, and Ohio Educational Aide Permit; day schedule is approximately 7 hours, five days a week, for

Qualifications

• 2 years of college coursework OR an Associate's Degree or higher.
• High school diploma with the passage of the ParaPro Assessment prior to employment.
• One year of related successful work experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience operating basic office equipment such as copiers.
• Ability to lift equipment, supplies and/or children weighing at least forty (40) pounds.
• Physical ability to perform all of the essential functions of the job.
• A valid Educational Aide Permit or license issued by the Ohio Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers, counselors and administrators in providing educational services to students with special needs.
• Work will involve assisting a student 1:1 with remedial, enrichment and/or independent living activities as well as supporting instructional and educational goals.
