Job summary

Cincinnati Public Schools Sayler Park Elementary School in Cincinnati, Ohio is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to support students with special needs in a 1:1/unit setting. Under supervision, you assist certified staff to meet instructional goals and help free teachers for planning and instruction.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or higher, or is pursuing one, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage behavior, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher or equivalent education.
• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Pass Parapro Assessment as per No Child Left Behind Act.
• Prior experience with children is desirable.
• Must obtain/maintain Ohio Educational Aide Permit.

Responsibilities

• Assist certified staff to reinforce reading, language arts, math, and computer instruction.
• Work with students individually and in small groups.
• Assist in administration and correction of classroom exercises and assessments.
• Prepare educational materials and reinforce strategies for individual needs.
• Maintain records of student learning and performance.
• Support classroom behavioral management and student supervision.
