Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services in East Bay is hiring a Special Needs Caregiver to work with children and/or adults with developmental delays and challenging behaviors. The role offers flexible scheduling, ongoing supervision by a BCBA, and opportunities for education advancement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in educational or healthcare setting preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with individuals with special needs and challenging behaviors.
• College coursework in psychology, education, social work, or behavioral sciences preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification for Adult & Child current.
• TB test updated.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one behavior intervention services to individuals with behavioral challenges.
• Assist with daily program activities in self-help, communication, social, cognitive, motor and behavior areas and crisis intervention.
• Assist with personal care activities including bathing, oral hygiene, meals, dressing, ambulation and related tasks.
• Implement and collect data on behaviors and goals per the Behavior Support Plan.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one-behavior intervention services to individuals with behavioral challenges

• Provides/assists with daily program activities in the areas of self-help, communication, social, cognitive, motor and behavior and crisis intervention

• Assist client with personal care activities including bathing, oral hygiene, preparation and feeding of meals, dressing and undressing, ambulation and other activities as needed

• Implement and collect data of the behaviors and goals outlined in the Behavior Support Plan

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent

• Previous experience working in an educational or healthcare setting preferred

• At least one year of experience working with children/adults with special needs who display challenging or aggressive behaviors

• College coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral sciences or related field preferred

• Current in-person CPR/ First Aid certification for Adult & Children

• Updated TB test

• Must be at least 18 years of age
