Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services in East Bay is seeking a Direct Support Provider to work with children and/or adults with developmental delays and challenging behaviors. The role includes one-to-one behavior intervention services and support with daily activities, with supervision from a BCBA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Education/healthcare background preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with individuals with special needs displaying challenging or aggressive behaviors.
• College coursework in psychology, education, social work, or related field preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid for Adult & Child required.
• TB test updated and current.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one behavior intervention services to individuals with behavioral challenges.
• Assist with daily program activities in self-help, communication, social, cognitive, motor, and behavior areas including crisis intervention.
• Assist with personal care activities such as bathing, oral hygiene, meals, dressing, and ambulation.
• Implement and collect data on behaviors and goals per Behavior Support Plan.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one-behavior intervention services to individuals with behavioral challenges
• Provides/assists with daily program activities in the areas of self-help, communication, social, cognitive, motor and behavior and crisis intervention
• Assist client with personal care activities including bathing, oral hygiene, preparation and feeding of meals, dressing and undressing, ambulation and other activities as needed
• Implement and collect data of the behaviors and goals outlined in the Behavior Support Plan

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous experience working in an educational or healthcare setting preferred
• At least one year of experience working with children/adults with special needs who display challenging or aggressive behaviors
• College coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral sciences or related field preferred
• Current in-person CPR/ First Aid certification for Adult & Children
• Updated TB test
• Must be at least 18 years of age
