Job summary

Tempe Elementary School District No. 3 is seeking a Transportation Special Needs Assistant at the Brogan Center - Transportation in Tempe, AZ. The role supports the School Bus Driver to safely transport students, monitor behavior, and assist with special needs students during bus trips and events.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, Arizona State Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance, CPR/First Aid, and completion of district trainings. No prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass CPR, First Aid, and Nonviolent Physical Crisis Intervention certifications.
• Arizona State Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transportation of students to and from school and on events.
• Enforce bus safety rules and supervise loading/unloading of students.
• Monitor student behavior and provide behavior management as needed.
• Operate wheelchair lift and secure students safely on the bus.
• Assist with pre- and post-trip inspections and bus cleanliness.
