Job summary

ECS4Kids is hiring a Special Needs Assistant to provide individualized support for children with special needs in classrooms across Northeast and Central Florida. The role focuses on nurturing social, emotional, and cognitive development while aligning with ECS4Kids’ Conscious Discipline approach.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED with CDA/FCCPC credential and experience with trauma-informed practices. Travel between centers is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with CDA or FCCPC credential or FCCPC required*.
• Associate degree in child development, special education, early childhood education or related field is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to assigned children with special needs.
• Use CLASS philosophy in Emotional Support, Classroom Organization, and Instructional Support.
• Assist Teacher by keeping children engaged during large group activities.
• Interact with children to extend play and learning.
• Assist in assessments and documentation for assigned children.
• Create a warm, nurturing environment using Conscious Discipline strategies.
