ECS4Kids is seeking a Special Needs Assistant to provide individualized classroom support for children with special needs and challenging behaviors across Northeast and Central Florida. The role emphasizes building warm, nurturing relationships and applying developmentally appropriate practices.

• Knowledge of child growth and development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Awareness of trauma effects on children’s development.
• Ability to provide a supportive, caring environment for children.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to assigned children to participate in activities.
• Use CLASS-inspired strategies for Emotional Support, Organization, and Instructional Support.
• Assist in keeping children engaged during large group activities.
• Interact with children to extend play and learning.
• Assist in assessments and documentation for assigned children.
• Maintain a warm, nurturing environment following ECS policies.
